Make Jesus the Center of this season

Make Jesus the Center of attention
Make Jesus the Center of attention

Making Jesus the center of this season

Do not neglect to pray and celebrate Jesus, the Messiah this season amidst all that is happening around you. Although everything seem to be moving at the speed of light, zero in your focus on “Immanuel”- God with US. It is God that is in us, that allows us to do the things that we need to do. When Jesus came to earth, he came to seek and save those who were lost. He came to give life and life more abundantly and to the fullest.

This is the season we celebrate not only the birth of Jesus Christ but his gift of salvation. It was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14, “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us].” The world has made a mess of Christmas. They have taken the Christ out of it and it has now become Xmas or Happy Holidays. The question is not what the world is doing with Jesus but what are we doing with the perfect gift that we have received at this time. Will you and I allow him to be Lord of all, so the world will truly know who he is and choose to worship him? The angel of the Lord appeared to both Mary and Joseph at separate times and announced that the son Mary will give birth to, would be called Jesus. There is great significance in the name of Jesus. We cannot past the elementary stage of our Christian experience without acknowledging him as Lord. The very foundation of our faith sets firm on Christ the solid rock.

nativity_scene_187440 Luke 1:31-33

31. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

It seems like the world has a huge problem with the name Jesus. You might get away by mentioning God but never mention Jesus. No one wants to hear that name. The same authority that Jesus entered this world with, is in the same authority he reigns today. The world’s neglect of Christ does not diminish his power in anyway. The events that are happening around the world does not diminish the authority of Christ in anyway. He is Lord and he continues to be Lord. He reigns over all, and of his Kingdom there is no end. Jesus is alive and well, he still sits upon the throne of David as Ruler and King.

There is power in the name of Jesus. “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11).” Jesus has the highest name, above every name.

 Some Takeaways for this season

Take the liberty and use the name of Jesus declaring what his word says, believing that he has already done everything that he needed to do to get you where you need to go.

Take the name of Jesus with you wherever you go and in all that you do. He is your ever present help (Josh. 1:9, Psalm 46:1).

Take time to attend and mediate on the word of God, finding out more about his amazing grace, truth and promises designed to enrich and fulfill your life (Prov 4:20 -22).

Take the time to be a blessing to someone this season. Give the gift of love and kindness to someone who needs it. Be a blessing on purpose.

Take the time to celebrate in a whole different way, because Immanuel is not just a baby who became a figure of great historical significance but He has become your Lord and savior, Jesus, the One who die to save the world from their sins.

We are praying that this will be the best season you have ever had. Why not declare it.

 Be blessed.

Advancing the Kingdom of God in the earth!

Be thankful

As the year closes out in one month, we have a tendency to look back on our past achievements, failures and the many plans we have made at the beginning of the year. Give thanksSome of us may look back with feelings of regret, some may look back in disappointment and some may look back with a feeling of nostalgia. We may encounter feelings of some sort as we reminisce on the events of this year, but what is important is that we do not allow what we have accomplished or failed to accomplish, determine our thankfulness in this season. Unfortunately, this is the time of year when many people struggle with feelings of depression and abandonment for various reasons. Rest assure that no matter where you are on your journey to success, healing or accomplishments, God is working behind the scenes to make it happen. We must be confident that God is carrying us in the moments when we feel like he is not there. He is closer than the air we breathe.

I challenge you, to forget the undesirables and press toward the prize of the high calling in Christ. Join in praise and thanksgiving for His goodness despite all the should haves, could haves and would haves this year. Thank him for all the “I have”. There are many reasons to praise God. Just find one reason to give him praise. You are alive, aren’t you? Start there. Praise him for his wonderful acts, praise him for hope in Jesus Christ. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  (Psalm 150:6).

God has not forgotten about you. He knows the purpose he has created you for and he knows where you need to go and how to get you there (Jer. 29:11). He has seen your labor of love, your toil, your pain, your confusion, your hurt, your disappointments, your failures, your good and your bad moments but none of these things move him or takes him by surprise. He is God and he is well able to accomplish what concerns you. According to Galatians 6:7-10 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Instead of giving up, keep on doing good, keep on walking toward your goal, keep on trusting God and doing what he tells you. Be not deceived God is not blind and he will reward you in due season.

Be encouraged to praise him, this season. Let his praise continually be in your mouth. Praise him in all things and for all things. Where ever you are right now, please have a thankful heart, don’t wait for something to happen, praise him like something has already happened, because it has. Praise God for being so good to you.

1Thessalonians 5:18
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Chronicles 16: 8
Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

Psalm 7:17
I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

Eph. 5:20
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

List 5 things you are thankful for, the things that we might take for granted, others wish they could have it.

Scriptures on Prosperity

Prosperity Scriptures (NIV)

The word of God is proof of God’s will concerning our prosperity. Taking the word and putting it into our hearts and minds not only reduces doubt and unbelief concerning what God wants but also, builds our faith to believe God for the impossible. It is important to note that it is God’s will to prosper his people

Genesis 8:21

The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

Genesis 12:2

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you;I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.

Genesis 39:5-6

From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.

Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

And said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.”Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.

Leviticus 26:9-10

I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.

Deuteronomy 7:12-14

If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors. You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young.

Deuteronomy 28:8-13

The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you.The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

Claim your benefits

Benefits packageBenefits package

Anyone who is in the job market, looking for a job will always be more interested in jobs that offer benefits. Although we may not think strongly about benefits, they are essential and add value to us and our family’s lives. Many organizations are seeking to make their fringe benefits package more attractive so that they can attract and retain the best professionals in the market. Some of those benefits are tuition assistance, flexible medical, childcare spending accounts, medical insurance, 401k disability insurance, life insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits and much more. We love good benefits and feel a sense of security about our well-being because our benefits allow us to go to the doctor, take vacations, stay home when we are sick and enjoy our perks. As Christians we do not realize that we have benefits too, benefits that far outweigh the benefits of our jobs, but we seldom claim them. David praises God in Psalm 103:1- 5 and describes the benefits that he receives from God.

Psalm 103:1-5

1Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

He forgives our sins, he heals all our diseases, he redeems our lives from destruction, he crowns us with loving kindness, and satisfies our desires with good things.

Jesus has purchased the greatest benefits package for you, unwrap it and take full advantage of it

These things are already in motion for us, as the children of covenant. Join David and praise God for the benefits you already have. You do not have to work hard to achieve it or better yet, try to earn it, these benefits are not dependent on your performance level with God. Whether you have met God’s level of holiness or you fell short a little. In fact, we really did not qualify for any of these benefits. Yet he made provisions for us even before we showed up in the world (Roms. 5:8). The price has been paid, it’s now time for us to access and enter into God’s provision through the door Jesus Christ. The greatest part of this is that, as long as Jesus is a part of our lives, we will always have access to of all God’s benefits (James 1:17).

Regardless of what’s happening in your life, do not leave any benefits on the table. All belongs to you (2 Corinth. 1:20). And do you qualify? Absolutely, you have a blood bought right to all the fullness of God in Christ Jesus.

I join my faith with yours today to believe God for whatever you need to be accomplished in your life.

Unwrap your benefits daily

OPEN UP YOUR MOUTH AND DECLARE THE WORD OF GOD OVER YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. Declare the benefits of God over your house daily. Command your day by declaring that you have a blood bought right to possess all the benefits of God. You are a child of covenant, therefore your inheritance is secure in Christ. According to Psalm 68:19 “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.” You have a great benefits package, unwrap it and take full advantage of all its content. Faith that refuses to give up

Faith laneFaith that refuses to give up

Have you ever wondered how important your faith is in the praying and receiving process? It is absolutely necessary to understand how vital our faith is in the whole matter. No one knows when, where, or how an answer will come from God, or if he will answer the way we are expecting. No ONE has such inside information. There is no certainty in God’s response to our requests. However, Jesus said, HAVE FAITH IN GOD and whatsoever you ask for in PRAYER believe that you receive it and it will be yours (Mark 11:22, 24). Anyone can pray for anything but not everyone truly believes his or her prayer will be answered. Where do you stand today?

Let’s consider an encounter the two blind men had with Jesus in Matthew 9:27-29. Let’s observe the conversation between them and Jesus. The blind men cried out to Jesus, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” Jesus asked the blind men, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” Their response was, “Yes, Lord,” with that response Jesus touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you.”

Why didn’t Jesus simply heal the men and send them on their way?

Not even Jesus in his sovereignty could perform miracles without the currency of heaven- faith. Jesus has the goods but we must exercise faith to move things from Jesus’ hands, into our hands and into manifestation. Faith is the currency that earth must use to bring into manifestation the supernatural of heaven. For without faith it is impossible to please God. If anyone comes to God, he must first believe that God exists and he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb. 11:6).

Although Jesus is God his hands are tied when we are not walking in faith. Matthew 9:1-2 shows where Jesus performed healing on a paralytic man lying on a mat, who was brought to him by some men. Jesus favorably responded to their expression of faith and healed him. In Matthew 9:22, Jesus commended the woman with the issue of blood who pressed through the crowd and intercepted Jesus’ journey so that she could receive her long awaited healing. She expressed great faith in Jesus to make her whole. She was deemed unclean and was fully aware that she could contaminate others (including Jesus) who came in direct contact with her. Jesus told her “Your faith has healed you.” In essence, the work is done by faith. Another miracle story in Matthew 9:24, demonstrates the need for faith in order for a miracle to take place. Jesus put out the crowd of people who were wailing in the ruler’s house over his daughter’s death. They were put out because they lacked faith in Jesus. If they had believed Jesus they would not have mocked him. He needed those who believe to stay with him in the room. The Centurion’s faith was also another miracle encounter, where Jesus commended him for his exercise of faith. Jesus told him directly, “I have to tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”

In all these stories and accounts of miracles Jesus performed, one common element that runs throughout each, is faith.

Put your Faith to action

You might say, well, my situation is so different, I have prayed and prayed for God to come through and nothing happened. This is not going to work, it just don’t seem possible. Well, I just want to urge you to get off your high horse and throw away all the negative sayings and simply approach Jesus with your situation. Don’t let past disappointments, or past experiences rob you from believing Jesus and seeing his power manifested in your life. I have prayed for God to work in situations and it did not happen the way I expected, in fact in some cases they actually went contrary to my expectations.

Believe and receive according to Mark 11:24. Not because you prayed for a person and nothing happened or the situation grew worse, means that God fell off his throne or faith in God is no longer needed, because you concluded that prayer does not work. That’s far from the truth. You can lose anything in life, but do not lose or cast away your confidence in God, it has great recompense of reward (Hebrews 10:35).  The approach to take is the one taken by all the people who needed a miracle from Jesus. They did not let their circumstances (past or present) stop them from reaching out to him. Not even their pride to say the least. It is time to transfer trust from yourself and your efforts to Jesus, who is well able to perform the miracle. So take the trust away from the doctors, medications, job, spouse, co-worker, friend, children, relative or anything that you have trusted more than you did Jesus. These things are necessary, but never give them the place of God in your life.

Now what is faith? Really!

Faith is simply believing Jesus.

Believing in the One who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we may ask or think according to the power that is at work in us. Like Jesus told the two blind men, “According to your faith let it be done to you”. Faith is refusing to let go of your confidence in God and no matter what happens stay in the faith lane.

Faith in Prayer – What happens when your faith fails?

When you are weak, He is strong

How many of us can appreciate having an uncomfortable situation that we just have to trust God to solve or bring us out? Our weakness

This is not a comfortable position to be in, I hate those “don’t know” or “why is this happening” moments. My nature is of such that I always, at all times want to know how to handle a situation or problem when it confronts me. 11 Corinthians 12:7 talks about a thorn given to Paul in the flesh to buffet him, less he should become conceited. This thorn was placed in his flesh, a messenger of Satan, to buffet him. Paul pleaded with God three times to take it away from him but instead, God’s response to Paul’s dilemma was, my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor. 12:7-9).

Does God take pleasure in our demise or distress? His strength is perfect

After God’s response, Paul took a different posture, instead of becoming depressed, angry and frustrated, he boasted all the more about his weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon him. Thus, Paul said, “For Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” This was a wake up moment for Paul, because when he realized that God was not going to change the situation, he knew at that point he needed to totally depend on God to sustain him in times of weakness. The point here, is not God’s desire to allow unpleasant things to happen to us, but more so our response to the situation. God will never do anything to destroy us, Paul could obviously still have a good quality life with the thorn in his flesh and so will we. Some things might not change like we want it but rest assure that God will never put us in a compromising position where we constantly fail. Our moment of weakness, becomes God’s opportunity to perfect his strength in us.

How can these things be applied in everyday matters?

Do you feel weak and powerless, as if you are going under, then call upon Jesus, his grace is sufficient for you. Your weakness is not a signal of hopelessness, because Christ dwells in you. He is the hope of glory, therefore, you are full of hope, even when it seems hopeless. His strength is made perfect in your weakness. Whatever your weaknesses turn out to be, it is important to understand that the same grace that saved you, is the same grace that is well able to sustain you, heal you, deliver you, and direct you.

Therefore like Paul, glory in your weaknesses, so that the power of Christ will be made perfect in your weakness. For when you are weak, then He is strong.

As you go through this week just remember to pray with “God confidence” focusing on His strength and not on your weaknesses.

The Power of Prayer changes lives!

praying-hands1.jpgJesus wants to empower His church to do amazing things in the world today

The power of prayer creates amazing results when we take the focus off of the physical things and situations and place it on Him and His mission. Let us call upon Jesus today to reveal and make Himself known to us and everyone who do not know Him around the world.

Every nation, people and language will be impacted and radically changed with the gospel of Jesus Christ when we pray and seek God, with fervency and diligence. We are the army of the Lord and our agenda is to advance the kingdom of God in every nation and sector of life. We can start right where we are. You and I can start a godly revolution with the Holy Spirit right on our knees TODAY! “So too the Holy Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance Romans 8: 26.” You and the Holy Spirit are a great team.

I pray that our hearts will be stirred this week to go beyond ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to pray through us. “Pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready and never give up. Always pray for all God’s people Eph. 6:18.”

Be blessed.

Advancing the Kingdom of God in the earth!

Hallelujah, we have the victory!

Victory in the WordVictory

I know many of you are aware of songs that declare our victory in Christ. We sing it lustily and become very excited about walking in that victory. What is sad for many of us, is that we do not experience this victory in our daily lives and so prayer is monotonous and our efforts to reach God is an idea of someone else’s experience and not our own. How about praising with all your heart today, knowing that this is not just a wonderful song I sing, or the words on a page I read, but a reality in my life. Our first recognition and grounds for victory declaration, is that the Victor lives in me.

The word assures the believers of victory

John puts it simple, greater is the One (the Victor), who is in you than the one (defeated foe) who is in world (1 John 4:4b). In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us (Romans 8:37).

Thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph in Christ (2 Cor. 2:14). I can do all things, Paul declares, through Christ who gives me strength (Phil. 4:13). Take the time to educate yourself on the word of God, so when you pray, you know what the word says and you declare what God has already predestined to happen. The word of God is forever settled in heaven, it’s a done deal, sealed in blood. The knowledge of the word removes ignorance about what God wants. When you pray his word you pray his will, because He honors his word above His name.

 Stop begging and start declaring

The Lord has spoken to me so emphatically one Sunday as I was worshiping in Church. The song was “Halleluiah You have won the victory”. He has already won the victory and when we pray, we need not beg Jesus to do, what he has already done. Our part is to start declaring His promises and blessings. What was evident to me, was that much of my prayer whether, I was praying for myself, family, other people, nations or other things; I was begging Jesus to do what He has already done, instead of declaring his promises and finished works over the situation. So it was clear to me, to stop “BEGGING and start DECLARING”. Much of our prayers could be filled with more thankfulness and declarations.

Now do not get confused with asking God to do something, this is different, although it seems like it is the same, there is a difference. Jesus said ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open (Matt. 7:7). Thus asking is requesting Him to do something on our or someone else’ behalf. I don’t mean to start a theological discussion on whether begging or asking God is right or wrong, but when you consider yourself, would you prefer someone begging you or simple asking you, and once it is in your power or reach, you will respond accordingly. The point behind begging is pleading with God hoping he hears and answers.

We must believe that, “Before we call, he answers; while we are still speaking he hears”, the answer is guaranteed before we even ask, because it is already there. We can approach God with confidence and therefore ask anything believing he hears us and if we know that he hears us, then we have the petitions we have prayed for (1 John 5:14-16). Jesus said, “When you pray believe that you receive it and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).

Don’t assume that when you have cried long enough, or begged long enough, God is moved; he is moved by faith. This is evident in every miracle account of Jesus’ earthly ministry. Believing starts with knowing what the Bible says and consciously believing it.

 Pointers to follow:

Consult the word like you would a professional for expert advice

Just as you would consult a lawyer for legal advice, a doctor for medical advice, an accountant for financial advice. It is important to consult God and His word for spiritual advice. It is vital not just to read the Bible but know the Bible. It is of paramount importance that we know the word and allow it to dwell richly in us with all wisdom. It is of great importance that we know what the Word says concerning the circumstance before we pray. If we don’t know what the word says about healing, deliverance, finances and other things, we would feel like we need to beg God, to answer our petition.

 Be thankful and grateful

Take time out daily to tell Jesus how much you appreciate him. Tell Lord how amazing and awesome he is. Express your gratitude to him for his amazing grace and His abounding love toward you. Make his praise glorious, flowing out of your lips. Let your mornings be filled with praise and adoration to God, the One who sits on the throne. You can only but imagine how he longs for and takes pleasure in his creation. We are his workmanship, created in Christ to do good works (Eph. 2:10). He admires his creation, because we look like him. How beautiful it is when we express our love to him. Praise sounds like music in his ears. He is waiting on you. Tell him how good he is, he knows but he wants to hear it from you. The book of Psalms is a great place to start, it is filled with praises and adoration to God.

You have the keys to the kingdom – Full access has been granted to you

When you think about what Jesus did, absolutely nothing was left undone, victory is complete. Regardless of how impossible the situation seems, believe that Jesus Christ has already conquered ALL things and has made available the keys to the Kingdom. Full access is granted into the store rooms of heaven filled with all precious gifts, with your name on it, waiting to be claimed. The Father of lights has already determined and provided all things you need that pertains to life and godliness. All things have been made available by His sacrifice. Your access is assured by His Blood, His Name, His Word, His Spirit and By His love. No begging is needed!

Rest

Rest in the finished works of Jesus Christ. When you rest in Jesus, you are not relying on your self- effort or self – confidence, you are relying on God- confidence. When step out your doors, you do not know what awaits you, or what is likely to confront you each day. What you do know, is if you rely on Him, He is well able and capable of taking care of you. You are trusting Him to do the work through you. You can provide for yourself but He can do it so much better, without you having to toil tirelessly. You might be worried about many things in this area, especially, when economies are going through recessions, depressions and all sorts of economic conditions. That’s where you enter into rest, because you know God’s got you. You know when the economies fall apart, government becomes chaotic, companies fail and others fall apart, God is your provider and he will sustain you in the worst of times. God speaks about a rest for his people. When we rest, God works and when we work God rests. Therefore, it is imperative that we enter into God’s rest, which means we rest from all our work, just as God did from his work (Heb. 4:10).

Be encouraged to rest and walk in victory everyday.
