Phil. 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Anxious thoughts will try to crowd your mind, fighting relentlessly for a place to rest, but will soon over take you with worry, frustration, anger, fear, uneasiness, and the list goes on. Really what it’s fighting for is your peace. Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Peace does not depend on favorable situations, peace comes from keeping your mind stayed on God and his word. Isa 26:3-4 says: You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.
Mediate on the word of God day and night. This does not mean, that you do nothing but keep your eyes in the word; however, it does mean that you rehearse the word of God and give it precedence in your mind above all other disturbing thoughts. Mediating on God’s word is a power thing because it produces the peace that you need to carry on a productive life. According to Psalm 27:5, “For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.”
Jesus spoke peace in the midst of the storm. He has given the same authority to you. It’s time to use your authority and stop allowing the wind and waves of life to toss you around like a helpless boat. God will keep his children safe but you must believe that he has not left you out there to fight alone. Although the afflictions of the righteous are many, the promise of the Lord is sure, he will deliver us out of them all. You have got to believe the word of God above everything and your peace will be great.
Advancing the Kingdom of God in the earth!
Be blessed.
