Never quit on your faith
What caused Abraham to believe when there was nothing of substance to believe in? According to Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see (NIV).” The only thing Abraham had working for him perfectly was his faith. His body was dead and his wife’s body was dead. There was no substance in the natural to depend on. “Against all hope Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations… Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was dead- since he was about a hundred years old- and Sarah’s womb was also dead (Rom.s 4:18).” Although Abraham knew what the facts were he also knew what the truth was and he chose the truth above the facts. He knew what God said to him and regardless of what the natural situation revealed in his body he chose to believe God.
What will you consider?
What you consider all of the time, is what your heart becomes soften to and what you fail to consider that’s what your heart becomes harden to. Thus, instead of considering the issues, consider what God’s promises say to about it. Be like Abraham, who had opportunities to waver in his faith but he took none. He did not allow himself to waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God. Our preoccupation on the demands of life and our inability to perform, will always cause us to end up in frustration, but when our focused is on Jesus our supernatural supply, we will always end up in sweet assurance and blessings. Faith wastes no time considering the demands, the lack, the hurt, the sickness, the financial issues; faith spends time considering the supply of Jesus’ supernatural power that is made available to deal with the scarcity in our lives.
Faith was all the substance Abraham needed and based on his fore-knowledge of God, he had all the evidence and confidence he needed to bring into manifestation the promise seed-Isaac. While Abraham and Sarah’s biological clock was ticking away until there was no more time on it, God’s miracle clock never stop working. God’s clock does not measure in human time or distance. God had already set in motion to give Abraham a son of covenant, it was a done deal with God. What Abraham did not know was that God is not moved by human inability, but by human faith. Abraham was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God (Roms. 4:20).
What will you put to work faith or fear?
Isn’t it interesting how God shows you these magnanimous things and tells you that what he wants you to do them, but you are so far away from it, it will take a miracle to get you close. How interesting would it be that, the Lord reveals to you that you would be preaching the gospel around the world when you can barely get around your city much less your county or state. Where does your faith lie today? It really does not matter because all you need is a little mustard seed faith according to Jesus. The greatest place to be in your faith is to be fully persuaded that the God of Abraham then, is your God today and he has the power to do what he had promised. Give ear and attention to his word, they are spirit and life. Consider his truth and believe him, only believe him.
Be blessed.
